It's a Girl!!

I am sure you already know but we had our Anatomy scan on Friday the 19th and got to see our little baby from head to toe!
Here are some things we found out at the scan:

1. our little pumpkin likes to use my bladder as a footstool.
2. she disapproves of us taking her pictures (she was shaking her head no when the scan started)
3. she lays on her back
and
4. she is a SHE, no doubt about it. Once she moved her feet from near her behind we saw her cute little bottom, both her thighs and clearly no boy parts we present.

Felicity Harper is weighing in at 9oz and right on track. The only thing that has us a little concerned is that because of how she was laying they could not get a good picture of her spine to rule out anything weird going on so we have to go back for another scan in March to check on that (fingers crossed it will be perfect with no problems).

Once we left the scan we headed home to prepare for our reveal game night to tell everyone the news! Here are some pictures of our process:

While we were waiting for guests to arrive Oliver decided to steal a cupcake:

But everyone else was patient and got to find out with us:

We are very excited to be expecting our little princess this summer. It will be 5 more months of learning how to raise a girl instead of a boy! I can't wait to introduce every one of you to our little girl.

145 days or less until we meet Felicity Harper Haynes!

Pre-Gender Reveal Predictions?

Our anatomy scan is scheduled for 1pm on Friday 2/19 and Dusty and I are very excited to find out if we are having a boy or a girl this time around.

I have had a lot of people tell me to just wait and be surprised, and to those people i say...HAVE YOU MET ME?? I am a very impatient person, and what I lack in patience I make up for in an incessant need to plan! I had decided a long time ago that if we had one boy and one girl and were having another we could wait because hand me downs would cover either but with all boys at home, I would like to make sure we were prepared (both physically and mentally) for the possible addition of a large amount of pink and girly products. That being said, if baby is a girl she will still be wearing some of Oliver's hand me downs that don't say boy or guy or are just extremely manly (hey, don't underestimate the power of a tutu and a hair bow which we would probably drown in).

So, do we think we are having a girl or a boy? Well, we have no idea. Lets go through some Wives Tales that claim to predict the baby's gender:

1. Carrying your baby high, it's a girl. Carrying low, it's a boy. Well...i am a big person so it is hard to see where i am carrying to tell if it is high or low. Baby seems lower than Oliver and I always thought that I carried Oliver High so according to this BOY but according to last pregnancy GIRL

2.  If you've got acne and other not-so-pretty skin blemishes, you've got a little princess coming your way I had acne worse this time but it is gone already..does that count?

3. Dry hands and cold feet are signs of a boy. It is winter...how can this be accurate?

4.  If your little one's heart rate is under 140 beats per minute, you're having a little boy. If it's over, get ready for your little girl!  Baby's heart rate has been in the 140's , is that borderline? Oliver's sometimes was in the 140's.

5. Craving sweets? According to some, that means your going to have a little girl. Salty and sour cravings indicate a boy. I lost my sweet tooth a few weeks ago, it has come back a little but I don't think i have had cravings yet. I guess the losing of my sweet tooth means boy? who knows, i had a pint of ice cream every day with Oliver so where was that girl?

6. Chinese Calendar- BOY (depending on the website you check)

7. Mayan Calendar-  GIRL (both age at conception-27 and year concieved 2015 are odd)

8. Morning Sickness- Yes- Girl, No-Boy. I have been a lot more nauseated but never threw up (came close) so still unclear

I don't know about you but i am not feeling certain either way.

We have invited some friends and family over next Friday Night for a reveal game night. I will be sure to post pictures!

Do you have a prediction? Let me know! How well did wives tales predict your baby gender? Anything not mentioned that you swear by predicting? Let me know!!

Back to Blogging!

So I disappeared again but I think i am going to try to come back!! I don't know how interesting it will be but I will try to find neat things to write about, if you have ideas of something you would like to see let me know!

So let's start with the biggest news:
On November 9th I tested positive.....FOR PREGNANCY!

Of course with our last baby leaving us before week 6 we were hesitant to share the news with anyone. We decided that if all went well we would tell everyone at Christmas. Good news is: We are now at week 16!! In 2-4 weeks we will have our anatomy scan and hopefully found out if our baby is a little girl or boy (keep an eye out for details on a Gender Reveal Game night!!).  So far this pregnancy has been a little different, I have been having tons of migraines, with Oliver my migraines got better, I have lost my sweet tooth (want some chocolate cake....err..no not really.) I don't even want soda (which may be  contributing to the migraines, while I haven't thrown up i have come much closer to throwing up this time and I have many many more food aversions and smell aversions (Dusty is no longer allowed to have Cinnamon Raisin bagels at home, he has to eat them at work).  I don't know if these changes are evidence of a little ballerina dancing in my belly or if they are just different because it is a different pregnancy but we should know soon! If we are blessed with a girl her name will be Felicity Harper, if it is a boy it will be Isaac Owen.

Oliver has grown up so much, he is saying more words, eating more foods and he can be quite a troublemaker!

Noah just lost his first tooth!! It was very exciting. He is always astounding me with how smart he is and he is very excited to become a big brother.

Dusty and I are good, we are hoping to continue our tradition of Pizza and horror movies on Valentine's Day

That is all for today,
